“Kampong Festive Buffet” at Shook! Feast Village Starhill Gallery
The JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur “Kampong Festive Buffet” at Shook!, Feast Village Starhill Gallery aims to offer diners value for money.
Priced at RM98 nett per adult and RM50 nett per child aged 12 years and below, the buffet offer diners 138 items, including 40 main course choices.
According to Feast Village executive sous chef Rafizan Abdul Rahim, the buffet offers diners value for money and five star service in a classy environment.
“Shook! Is famous for its classy environment. We are unique, here you can look up and see several floors of Starhill Gallery as you dine,” he said.
For those who yearn for the traditional kampung experience, and his culinary team have created a menu that ranges from appetisers to salads, soups to mains, desserts and snacks.
The array of authentic Malay dishes includes all-time favourites such as Rendang Daging ‘Tok’, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Nasi Briyani, Sup Ekor and Bubur Lambuk.
Diners were seen queuing up for the kambing golek and enjoying it with nasi briyani.
The sup ekor, can be enjoyed on its own or with a slice of toast.
Fans of ikan patin (freshwater silver catfish) dish from Pahang can enjoy it here.
Rafizan said it is not a dish that is readily available commercially except during Ramadan and not many any eateries serve it.
“There are many ways to cook beef, catfish, or chicken, but here, we chose the style that best accentuates the flavours of the ingredients,” he said.
There will be speciality stalls offering local delights such as the Rojak Buah,Satay, Ikan Bakar (grilled fish), Roti Canai, Nasi Ayam (chicken rice), noodles and soups.
Stalls are decorated to offer a hint of kampung ambiance.
Diners can also enjoy the ulam with Sambal Belacan, Sambal Tempoyak, Sambal Cincaluk, and even Budu, a classic kampung staple from Kelantan.
To satisfy your sweet cravings, there are local desserts such as Kuih Ondeh Ondeh, Kuih Lapis, Kuih Seri Muka, Kuih Tepung Pelita and Cucur Badak.
The buffet is available from May 15 to June 12 from 6.30pm to 10pm.
