Angeli, the all-natural, handcrafted line of fragrance and skincare oudh-inspired products by Forestry Oudh, was recently launched.

The key ingredient of the Angeli’s collection is the oudh essential oil harvested from the agarwood trees in Malaysia. Agarwood is the most expensive raw ingredient in the world with quality oudh oil selling for in excess of $50,000 USD per kilogram.

Oudh is known for its anti-oxidant, anti-ageing, anti-stress, antimicrobial, antiasthmatic

and aphrodisiac benefits amongst others.
Scientifically, oudh oil is also a fixative which means that the fragrance lasts longer on the skin.

Dato' Dr. Jalaluddin Harun said, “Last year, the total export worth for agarwood was only RM15mil whereas

timber and timber products brought in RM40bil for domestic and international export. We have room to expand, and we hope to see the Forestry Group contribute to agarwood export directly through Forestry Assets’ Agarwood

woodchips trading and indirectly through the sales of Angeli brand."

Angeli introduced its first collection, “Autumn Sky 2017” at the event, with 17 handcrafted skincare products in its range named after its unique harvesting period.

The exclusive artisanal collection includes oudh-based eau de parfum for men and women, and natural skincare products including soap bars, bath gel, bath bombs, body moisturising oil, body mists, hand and body lotions, mud and salt scrubs.

According to Forestry Oudh’s Chief Executive Officer Ariza Norhalim, “Each product in the Angeli range is crafted only from natural ingredients, and is functional in its design – be it stress reduction, skin purification or other

benefits. Every product contains the highly coveted oudh oil which comes from agarwood or gaharu trees.
"The use of oudh oil and agarwood woodchips for medicinal and beauty purposes has been known thousands of years ago amongst the royals from the Moghul dynasty, Japanese monarchs, King Louis

XIV of France as well as the respected figures of various religions.
"Today, these even become valuable collector’s items.”

Ariza also explained that oudh oil matures and changes according to time and

body temperature – making it a unique essential oil.
Because of this, each collection introduced by Angeli will be a limited edition collection.

“Factors like weather conditions during harvest, living organisms within the

proximity of the trees, soil structure and the distillation process influence the

final outcome of the oudh essential oil’s quality and scent. As these variables

change from time to time, so each batch of oudh oil distillation will vary and

distinct from another."

She added, “All Angeli products are hand-made to ensure that the values and fragrance of the oudh and other pure essential oils ingredients in the products remain intact and not to be diminished by the heat and chemical processes caused by huge production machines. The products are also safe from

harmful chemicals like sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and parabens.

About Angeli

Angeli is a brand owned by Forestry Oudh Sdn Bhd which is a part of the

Forestry Assets group of companies that own Agarwood plantations in

Malaysia. Its labs for the research and development of the oudh oil and

agarwood end-products is located in Damansara Perdana, Selangor while the

agarwood factory is based in Semenyih, Selangor.

The Angeli range is created by Roman Abdullah, a perfumer who is a fifth

generation descendent of a family that has worked for Moghul royalties.

Currently, the Agarwood trees is categorised as an endangered species under

the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna

and Flora (CITES) and the oudh oil is labeled as one of the highest valued

essential oils in the world due to its scarce resources.
