Enjoy authentic Johorean dishes and favourite items of local comedian Harith Iskander at The Joke Factory, Publika.
The comedy venue, founded by Harith with his wife Dr Jezamine Lim, will be introducing their first Ramadan buffet.
Featured are authentic signature traditional dishes, recipes being passed down by Harith Iskander’s grandma herself; the kitchen staff are led by Kak Limah, Harith’s aunty from Muar, Johor.  
During the preview, Harith introduced some of the items such as nasi biryani Johor kambing, special Johor beef curry, masak lemak nangka muda, pecal pengantin, soto ayam traditional, sambal goreng kering paru, asam pedas ikan tenggiri, lemak sayur manis labu, kuih nyonya, bubur chacha asli.
There is also lok-lok served with special sauces and chee cheong fun.
“The dishes have been passed down from generation to generation, it evokes memories of my childhood days back in Johor.
“The begedil that my cousin makes, I can easily eat eight at one go,” Harith said.
After the buffet preview was the TJF Open Mic hosted by Prakash Daniel, featuring new and established, local and foreign standup comedians.
The Joke Factory Ala Kampung Warung Ramadhan Buka Puasa Buffet is from May 5 to June 5 from 6pm onwards.
Buffets are priced at RM68 nett for adults and RM40 nett for children (7-12 years old) and senior citizens (above 55 years old). Special discounts are available for charity, fundraising dinners as well as group discounts.
During this entire month, The Joke Factory will continue to offer standup comedy shows featuring up-and-coming Malaysian comics, improvised comedy, and international performers such as Emily Tresidder, Danny O’Brien, and Nasif Akhtar.
