Takeaway promo at Bangkok House
Ramadan & June promo at Bangkok House
Authentic Thai Muslim Cuisine.
Growing up with her mom’s home cooked Bangkok-style meals, Farah Hassan hopes to share the flavours she enjoyed since young with customers.
The co-owner of Bangkok House co-owner said the family-run restaurant offers authentic Thai Muslim Cuisine.
“My mom is Thai, she cooks authentic Bangkok-style dishes.
“There are various styles of Thai cuisine and Bangkok style is commonly accepted by many,” she said.
The first outlet was opened in 2003 in Pandan Indah and relocated to 3 Two Square in 2009. In 2014, they set up their TTDI outlet; and have garnered regulars over the years.
“We source for the ingredients ourselves. We do not compromise on ingredients.
“Take for instance the green curry dishes, the fish sauce and curry paste are imported from Thailand. Seafood is supplied daily,” she said.
According to Farah, the Siakap Steam Lime Chilli and Tomyam dishes are popular among customers.
The siakap dish is a combination of spicy, tangy taste profiles; the lime adds a refreshing taste.
We were served Tomyam Prawns. I could not resist drinking the tangy, spicy, flavourful soup. There is also a chicken version.
Another item for seafood lovers is Butter Prawn, the combination of sinful fried butter and plump, juicy prawns make this a delicious treat.
We were also served Green Curry Chicken, which had me going for seconds as this is one of my favourite Thai dishes. The Thai eggplants were a nice touch.
Thankfully the Spicy Chicken was not too spicy, as someone with a low threshold for spiciness, I was able to enjoy its flavours.
I was glad that the chicken strips in the chicken dishes served were well-cooked and tender, as opposed to being undercooked.
I seldom eat white rice these days but these dishes were begging to be savoured with a bowl of rice.
The Mango Sticky Rice is also a customer favourite.
The mangoes were sweet; the santan is cooked with pandan leaves, hence the fragrance.
I was pleased to see fried mung beans sprinkled on top as not all places serving this dessert has this.
“Thai food is all about the details. And we use grade A quality rice too,” Farah said.
For Ramadan and June, the restaurant is having a takeaway promotion.
Farah said customers enjoy ordering several choices to enjoy a buka puasa meal at home.
Tomyam Chicken, Butter Chicken, Chicken 3 Rasa, Spicy Chicken, Green Curry Chicken, and Mango Sticky Rice; are priced at RM10nett each; while Tomyam Prawns or Butter Prawns are RM15nett. The takeaway promo price for Siakap Steam Lime Chilli is RM35 (medium); the usual price for dine-in is RM69.
