International Dance Day: Gangnam Style

 

Remember the iconic horse-riding dance in the popular Gangnam Style by Korean rapper, singer and songwriter Park Jae-sang aka Psy?

In conjunction with International Dance Day on April 29, let’s take a walk down memory lane and revisit the trend that took the world by storm 10 years ago.

At that time, there were more than 5,000 Gangnam Style parody music videos on YouTube with people all around the world doing their style of the signature horse-riding dance.

And many Malaysians have jumped onto the bandwagon.

Gangnam Style was performed at many events I attended, even government events!

I remembered being assigned to cover a “I Am Gangnam Style” competition in Kuala Lumpur.
