Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya: Swez Brasserie
For many, nothing beats mom’s cooking and with that in mind, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya’s Swez Brasserie offers the Sajian Ramadan Ibunda for Ramadan.Highlights include Ayam Bertebu (sugar cane barbecued chicken), Ikan Saba Bakar Berempah Bersama Daun Pisang (mackerel grilled in banana leaf), Daging Salai (smoked meat), Ikan Masak Asam (tamarind fish), Puyuh Goreng Sambal Hijau (fried quail in green sambal), Kambing Golek (roast lamb).
The rose apple acar served with the mackerel is appetising and good enough to be enjoyed on its own.
I also enjoyed the barbecued chicken as the meat was tender. Sugar cane is used as it adds flavour and colour during the caramelisation.
Durian lovers can rejoice as due to popular demand, the durian dessert corner is back for yet another year.
Eight types of durian desserts made from the King of Fruits will be offered daily, including durian bubur and pulut, durian crumble cake, durian profiterole, durian tart, durian cake, durian swiss roll, and durian cream puff.
My favorite was the durian profiterole and and the durian puff, which pastry was light and flaky.
While ais kacang is a staple at most buffets, I was excited when we were served the Philippines version Halo Halo as I have heard so much about it but have yet to try it.
The shaved ice dessert was served with a variety of fruits and topped with yam ice-cream, one of my favourite ice-cream flavours.
The Ramadan Early Bird Vouchers, which can be used from June 18 to 22, available for sale now until June 12 for RM91 nett per person.
From June 18 to 22, the buffet spread will be priced at RM 115 nett per adult and RM 58 nett per child while from June 23 to July 16, it will be priced at RM138 nett per adult and RM69 per child.
The buffet is open from 7pm to 10pm. The restaurant seats 220 pax.
