Christmas tree-lighting ceremony @ Best Western i-City Shah Alam

It was an early Christmas celebration for the children from Persatuan K.I.D.S. at Best Western i-City Shah Alam’s second annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.

More than 100 guests from the corporate sector and business partners also attended the event.

The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the 3.6 metre (12 foot) Christmas tree at the Alfresco outdoor dining area.

General manager Anthony Kong said it is a two in one event: a corporate social responsibility (CSR) event to spread the Christmas cheer to children from the home, and a networking event to thank corporate clients.

“We ask the children for their wishlist and post it on the Christmas tree at the hotel so guests can help fulfil them. For last year’s CSR, the wishlist was fulfilled in two weeks.

“We have at least three CSR events a year, during festive seasons like Christmas, Hari Raya and Chinese New Year,” he said.

Persatuan K.I.D.S. caretaker Eric Joseph said the children have been looking forward to the event. 23 children attended the event.

“They get presents and are treated to entertainment,” he said.

The children did a singing and dance performance at the event.

Aside from being entertained by stand-up comedians, guests enjoyed some of the items that would be served on the actual Christmas Eve buffet like the Butter Herb Roasted Turkey and an assortment of scrumptious desserts.

The turkey is also available for takeaway from Dec 22 to 31 at RM280 nett per bird (5 kg).
