Quality over quantity is what Nook’s Sous Chef Ahmed Zaki Harun believes in when concocting up delights for the Ramadan buffet at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral’s all-day dining restaurant.
At over 150 dishes, it may be dwarfed by some places that offer up to 300 dishes, but Ahmed Zaki believes that the smaller the spread, the better the taste.
The chef’s Slow Braised Beef Shin Rendang takes centre stage on the buffet line at Nook’s Carving Station. Slow cooked for over seven hours and seasoned generously with traditional Asian spices of salt, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, it will be available daily at Nook’s buffet spread.
Another highlight is the Nasi Kambing Sumbat.
The chef also recommends the Telur Itik Masak Lemak (duck eggs stew), which was great with rice.
Wings are not my favourite part of the chicken but the Wok-fried Teriyaki Chicken with Green Leek had me going for seconds with its marination.
Make your own version of Pasembur by choosing your favourite ingredients, mine was the fried squid rings.
At the noodle section, I selected Sarawak laksa. The vermicelli soaked up the broth, making it a flavourful bite.
150 was certainly more than enough for me as by the end of the meal, I was stuffed before I got to try everything at the buffet spread.
Nook’s A-List Ramadan Buffet is priced at RM135 nett per adult and is served daily from 29 May – 25 June 2017 for dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.
Early bird vouchers will be available for sale from April 15 till May 28, at RM100nett per voucher and at RM90nett per voucher for purchases of 36 vouchers and more.
Children between the ages of six and 12 get a 50% discount.
